Remove acne scars to regain a healthy skin

Acne can cause disabling scars (trophic disorder) but also persistent brown spots (pigmentary lesions) and red spots (erythematous lesions).
Scarring trophic disorders are irregularities of the skin surface secondary to severe acne flare-ups.

They take different forms (ice pick scars, wave scars, box scars...). It is very common to have several different types of acne scars.
Frequently, after an acute acne attack, the skin becomes fragile following an important inflammatory reaction and becomes sensitive to the slightest sun rays.
This results in the formation of a brown pigment patch on the acne pimple area.
This is known as post-inflammatory pigmentation. Also, in case of difficult healing, redness in the acne breakout areas may persist. This is called post-inflammatory erythema.

For the vast majority of patients with acute acne, a mixture of trophic disorders, pigmentary and erythematous lesions is observed, giving way to a skin strewn with acne sequelae.

Fortunately, all of these sequelae can be treated regardless of your skin type and color.

Causes / contributing factors

One of the main causes is the absence or delay in the treatment of acne.
An absence of local (cosmeceutical, laser, peeling, Led) and/or general (micronutrition, drug treatment) treatment favors uncontrolled acute acne flare-ups, which can lead to severe inflammatory reactions and therefore to after-effects and scars.

Another cause is the early treatment of scars. The sooner the treatment of scars and acne spots is carried out after their occurrence, the easier it will be to remove these marks. It is easier to regain healthy skin from any after-effects if these treatments are carried out quickly.

The absence of sun protection is one of the important factors in the occurrence of pigmentation spots. The fragility of the skin following severe inflammatory reactions during acne outbreaks makes the skin very sensitive to the sun. A professional sunscreen will reduce the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and therefore the occurrence of brown spots on acne areas.

A customized treatment protocol combining several techniques will be established with the doctor, regardless of your skin type.

Depending on the severity and type of scars or spots, the improvement obtained varies between 30% and 95% and depends on the collagen damage caused by the multiple acne flare-ups that have occurred.
The CLEAGE center benefits from expert physicians and world reference technologies in the treatment of acne scars. The combination of several treatments, adapted to each type of scar and stain, will allow recovering healthy skin.

The reference treatment for trophic disorders is LUTRONIC's Genius radiofrequency and the CO2 laser which will stimulate the deep layers of the skin and lead to the natural production of elastin fiber, collagen, and hyaluronic acid.
This natural synthesis by the fibroblasts (the cells of the deep layers of the skin) will make it possible to treat the deep irregularities of the skin. Between 3 and 5 sessions spaced one month apart are sufficient to attenuate between 50% and 95% of trophic acne scars, depending on their severity and age.
A slight redness as well as slight edema that can be perfectly made up are present for 48 hours and disappear spontaneously. A local anesthetic cream should be applied 1 hour before the session.
Combination with dermatological microsurgery techniques may be considered before the Genius session depending on the depth and type of acne scar.

The LaseMD® sub-ablative fractional laser will allow a gentle superficial smoothing of the skin, a tightening of dilated pores, and the disappearance of brown spots.
It is recommended to combine the LaseMD® during the same session with the Genius treatment. This combined treatment is called the Total Skin Solution, with the Genius radiofrequency treating the deep layers of the skin and the LaseMD® treating the superficial layers. The redness will then last 3 to 4 days and will gradually disappear.

In case of pigmentary lesions that are too intense, SPECTRA pigmentary laser sessions can be performed (between 2 to 4 sessions). If the pigmentary spots are very pronounced, laser sessions can lead to the formation of a slight crust that will disappear after 4 days.

Erythematous lesions will be treated with CLARITY II or SPECTRA laser (between 2 to 4 sessions). No crust will form after the vascular laser sessions. A simple redness will be present for 48 to 72 hours and will then disappear progressively spontaneously.

The use of ZO SKIN HEALTH professional cosmeceutical products every day by the patient will correct certain post-acne brown spots and improve the natural smoothing of the skin.
